About 31 Surf

It all started with a dream. A dream of someday owning my own clothing line. As I sat on the beach on that sunny July afternoon thinking about what type of clothing line I would want and who I could appeal to, it hit me! Duh, I’m on the beach! I have been on the beach my whole life. Why not a surf wear company? I buy new beach shirts and hats every summer. Wouldn’t it be cool to wear my own brand?

From there it all came together.

I was an athlete growing up. My wardrobe consisted of athletic clothing…that’s it! That’s what I felt comfortable in and that’s what I still feel comfortable in today. I played baseball from the age of 6 through college. A mentor and coach of mine in high school who wore the number 31 passed away right after high school graduation. As a tribute to him I took the number 31 and wore it in college. Today, I have passed that number down to my sons who now wear it in their sports. What came of this was my favorite clothes together with my favorite number. My dream has become a reality. This is how 31 Surf Company came to be.
